Gunadi Lamere Design is the architecture practice of Cynthia Gunadi and Joel Lamere.
Founded in 2010, GLD is preoccupied with architectural craft at all scales, from furniture detail to urban strategy, with the conviction that highly crafted design, quality, and longevity are intricately linked.
We believe that thoughtful design can elevate spaces of all kinds, from the utilitarian to the exuberant. Each project has its own set of constraints and criteria - site, program, and materials, among others - and we work with our clients to identify and develop the particularities that make their projects unique.
GLD was founded in Brookline, MA, but is now based in Miami, FL.

Cynthia Gunadi, RA, NCARB, has over ten years of professional design experience, with projects ranging in scope and scale from residential renovations to campus design and master planning. She is a licensed architect in the states of Massachusetts and Florida. Before co-founding Gunadi Lamere Design she was a senior member of Hashim Sarkis Studios, a multi-disciplinary firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she headed architecture and urban design projects located in the US and the Middle East. She previously worked at ARO in NYC and Office dA in Boston.
Cynthia received her Master in Architecture in 2006 from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art-Semiotics from Brown University and her Associate of Arts from Bard College at Simon’s Rock. She is also a fiction writer and in 2015 received an MFA in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College.

Joel Lamere is an assistant professor at the University of Miami School of Architecture, where he teaches and coordinates architectural design studios and seminars in architectural geometry, design and representation. Prior to teaching at UM-SoA he was Assistant Professor of Architectural Design and Homer A. Burnell Chair at MIT. He previously worked at Anmahian Winton Architects in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He also served as design and fabrication consultant to Utile Inc. on their Boston Harbor Parks Pavilion.
Joel received his Master in Architecture with distinction in 2006 from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Boston University.
